You're not fighting.
You're just not
talking anymore.
An 8-week guided system for couples who've become roommates — one theme a week, a 20-minute check-in, and a few minutes a day. Built on Gottman Institute research, not platitudes.

The Pattern
You know the feeling.
The conversations are all logistics now — who's picking up what, what's for dinner, whose turn it is. You're not fighting. You're barely even talking, really. Somewhere along the way, "partners" quietly became "roommates who like each other," and neither of you decided that on purpose. It just happened, one busy week at a time.
Gottman's research has a name for the small moments that build or erode a relationship: bids for connection — a comment, a look, a "hey, come see this." In a six-year study, couples who stayed together turned toward each other's bids about 86% of the time. Couples who divorced did so only about 33% of the time.
The drift isn't usually one big thing. It's thousands of small missed moments, quietly adding up. Which means the fix isn't one big conversation either — it's a structure that makes the small moments happen again, on purpose.
At A Glance
Five components. Eight weeks.
What's Inside
A system, not a suggestion
Every piece builds toward the same thing — a relationship that runs on more than logistics.
The 8-Week Arc Overview
One theme a week — Noticing, Turning Toward, Love Maps, Appreciation, Repair, Rediscovery, Play, Integration — each with a clear goal and 2–3 daily micro-rituals under five minutes.
- Every theme grounded in a named Gottman concept
- Daily rituals that take minutes, not hours
- A real arc, not a random list of exercises
The Weekly Check-In Ritual
The same 20-minute, four-step structure every week: an appreciation opener, one structured frustration each, no interrupting, and a closing ritual — with a fillable worksheet for all 8 weeks.
- Predictable structure makes hard conversations feel safe
- “I feel ___ when ___” format, not accusations
- A hard no-interrupting rule, every single week
Three Conversation Card Decks
75 original prompts across three depths — Reconnect (light, any night), Rediscover (deeper, who you're each becoming), and Rebuild (vulnerable, real repair territory). Print-and-cut format.
- Start light, go as deep as you're both ready for
- No history required for the first deck
- Reusable indefinitely, not a one-time exercise
The Repair Scripts Guide
Exact de-escalation phrases organized around the six real categories of the Gottman Repair Checklist — for the moment a conversation starts going wrong, not after it already has.
- Word-for-word phrasing, not vague advice
- Built on the actual documented Gottman categories
- Covers both making and receiving a repair attempt
The Connection Menu
30 low-effort rituals sorted by how much time you actually have — 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 30+ minutes. Pick one. That's the whole system on a busy day.
- Something for the busiest day, not just date night
- Pairs directly with the 8-Week Arc's daily rituals
- Reusable indefinitely, no expiration
Built On Evidence, Not Platitudes
Four ideas, borrowed directly from Gottman Institute research
Bids for connection. Couples who stayed together turned toward each other's small bids 86% of the time; couples who divorced, only 33%.
The magic ratio. Stable couples maintain roughly five positive interactions for every one negative interaction during conflict.
Repair attempts. Gottman's research organized effective de-escalation phrases into six recognizable categories — used directly in this system's Repair Scripts guide.
Love Maps. How well you know your partner's current inner world — a foundational layer of Gottman's Sound Relationship House model.
What this system is
A structured communication tool built to help you reconnect — a real 20-minute weekly rhythm, conversation prompts, and de-escalation scripts, all grounded in named research.
What this system isn't
Couples therapy, or a substitute for one. If your relationship involves abuse, contempt that won't shift even when named, or an active crisis, please seek a licensed couples therapist instead of, or alongside, this program.
Questions
Before you get the system
No. It's a structured communication tool built to help you reconnect and communicate better. It's not therapy and doesn't replace a licensed couples therapist.
This system is built for both partners to use together — the weekly check-in and card decks specifically require two people. It's not designed as a solo tool.
One 20-minute check-in, plus 2–3 daily micro-rituals under 5 minutes each. Roughly 30–40 minutes a week total, not counting the optional Connection Menu rituals.
The Repair Scripts guide is built for exactly that — de-escalation phrases based on Gottman repair-attempt research, for the moment a conversation starts going wrong.
The 8-week arc is designed sequentially, but the card decks and Connection Menu are meant to be used indefinitely, in any order, long after week 8.
If there's abuse, contempt that won't shift, or an active crisis, this tool isn't the right fit — please see a licensed couples therapist instead of, or alongside, this program.
